A Box of Chocolates

I'm just so happy and relieved when my dear SF told me she got the package I sent her. It's her birthday tomorrow, so as early as last Friday I mailed my present to her. I don't want it to be so late, not again, just like last year. She got it last Tuesday, ain't that fast, super fast, lol!

I haven't tried making a bourse before so thought now is the time. I stitched Au Fil des Reves Bourse Maison de Brodeuse, the English version, on 32ct Lugana, my own dyed.



The English version says "In a stitcher's house, there is always a work in progress", how true is that.

I've converted all the floss to DMC and chose the colors to match the color of the fabric.

Instead of ribbons, as required, to attach the pincushion on it, I used matching small buttons, making the pincushion detachable. Thought it's cute and it gave a very nice touch to it.

Assembling the outer fabric and the stitched piece is not so hard but making sure I sew perfectly straight line all around the design is very challenging, I did sweat a lot, lol!

I used a floral printed cotton fabric, the one I pulled out from my stash which I thought is just perfect. I sewed wood buttons on all four casing corners and inserted two same length twisted cords which I made beforehand.


Haven't given her any of my scissor fobs before so I included it to go with a pair of scissors. I used lavender beads for the tip protector as I know she likes that color.
