♥♥♥♥♥♥ 10 angel's blush

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for the lovely comments about my SALexandre Wallet. :) Such wonderful words warm my heart and keep me motivated. I highly appreciate your visits and for taking time to leave comments.

Last night I heard from Nina that the gift had safely arrived. That was super duper fast mail. :) At first I couldn't decide what to make. She's such a talented and creative person. I've seen her finishes and it never fails to amaze me everytime.

I stitched up and finished two things. I also sent along extra goodies I knew she could make use of. I chose to stitch Climbing Rose Cottage by Elizabeth Designs and finish it into a pinkeep and a threadkeep. I'm so glad you like it Nina.

Here's a snap of the pinkeep.

I like this design so much. The specialty stitches made it look more interesting and lovely. I added a pocket at the back to hold the tiny threadkeep.

As I've mentioned on my previous post, I love how my very first small threadkeep turned out and so I made another one for a friend. Yup, this is it. I stitched some details such as the cute sheep, climbing roses and some flowers, my faves in this design, so it's a matching piece. Here's a snap,

That's all for today. Happy stitching! And TCA.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ 26 angel's blush

Come join me, I'm still dancing. I'm so happy to share with you my completed SALexandre Stitcher's Wallet, yipee!!

I've been happily working on it for the past few days and I must say it turned out really nice. As planned, I did cut and remove fabric threads on the edges on all parts so it took me some time to finally finish it before putting them all up in one piece.

I didn't do the hardanger though as planned. I guess I'm just really not in the mood to do it and besides it'll consume a lot my time which as of the moment is very limited. I only worked on it at night, if I'm lucky a few afternoons but that's very rare. So I decided to just stitch a very simple design, that is using Blanket Stitch and Diamond Eyelets.

If you have followed my posts about this SAL, I did stick to my plan on the way it will be folded, fold left and right panel, then fold together close. Here's what you'll see when you open it,

And when you flip open the left panel, you'll see the pocket at your left and next to it is the threadkeep with 4 thread rings and a band to keep the floss from tangling.

Flip open the right panel, right beside the threadkeep is the scissor pocket with the band to hold the scissor in place. This time I didn't use a ribbon or lace but a strip of the backing fabric with a snap attached on the left end and the right end stitched in place. Lastly, is the needle/pin page.

Here's how it looks when it is wide open,

As you can see, I managed to make the same finishing on all parts. Albeit it is so simple I think keeping the motif throughout is essential. Here's the outside,

Oh I almost forgot, to secure the wallet closed, I made a bridle and attached a cuff link to go with it at its center. I was trying to find a white or brown cuff link but I only found pink and yellow. Although it is shocking pink, not bad at all, it's the closest I can get and so used it instead of a button. Why cuff link you ask, just for a change, and I think it looks nice?..

I really enjoyed this SAL. My big "THANK YOU" goes to Anne and Sof.

Here's their completed work, absolutely eye candy! Click the photo to get to their blogs. And see other finishes by SALexandre participants in the forum, link provided below. Enjoy!

Salexandre Update and a small finish

♥♥♥♥♥♥ 12 angel's blush

I'm right on time, yehey!! I've finished stitching the last 3 charts for the inside part of the SALexandre Stitcher's Wallet. Right before the next chart was out, actually it's not a chart, it's the intructions on how to make the wallet.

Although these are small charts, I stitched it at a longer time than my usual. I even got some mistakes, so there I go again, rip stitch, rip stitch, oucch!! Anyways, I like the look of it all.

As you can see in the photo, clockwise, the one at left will be a pocket, next to it is a needlepage, then a thread band and lastly a scissor pocket.

I'm still debating whether to finish each part as indicated in the intructions or finish it with hardanger. Yesterday, I decided to make a rough design for the hardanger finish on all 3 parts. It's just a simple design with eyelets. Here's how it will look like,

Should I do it or stick to the usual sewing? Dunno yet.

I've had an HD last month but haven't gotten around to posting it here. Really busy with life. I forgot all about it but only remembered when I picked up my SALexandre project bag as it's in it and holds the thread I'm using for this project. It's a single threadkeep that is so cute. I am so happy to see the result.

The stitched design is by Perrette Samoiloff from Point de Croix Mag. I'm sure those who are P.Samo-lovers will instantly recognize it and know it's by her. Stitched on 28ct White Lugana 1 strand over 1 using all the threads required except for the hair, I used dark brown.

I used a beige handmade lace on all four sides and a small loop at the center top (useful especially if I want to hang it). An oblong ring was held in place with a wide brown satin ribbon at the center bottom. The back fabric is a rose print cotton with a small pocket to hold the floss tag/label. I thought it would be nice if I can just store the tag so that if I had run out of it, I could just take a look at the tag at the back and have the exact details, how convenient, isn't it? This threadkeep is great to use to keep the floss for monochrome projects.

I had fun making it so I made another one for a friend in Hungary. I'll send it to her next week and the bday gift for sis Noreen. I promised sis to send it to her last week but failed, hope she's not angry at me. I was at home for the last 2 weeks as I was very ill. Wasn't able to go out as I feel giddy, like I'm going to trip over anytime. I had high BP and ear infection. So I was bedrest during those weeks. Thanks dear God I'm back to normal. Although I still feel dizzy from time to time, but it's not as severe as last week. I managed to stitch an hour or so last night, unlike last week I'm totally useless.

Have a great and safe weekend ahead of you. God bless. TFL!!

Time for tea!

Monday, July 07, 2008

♥♥♥♥♥♥ 12 angel's blush

I've been happily stitching this LHN Coffee and Tea and have completed Herbal Tea on the last Saturday of June (as you can see in the photos, still dated June'08). Wasn't able to post it here as soon as I've finished it as I could not find the time to blog then.

I've finished Cappuccino and so it's time for tea. Here it is,

What a pleasure to stitch. It is true what they said stitching with overdyed silk is fun and easy. My very first silk floss experience was using Dinky-Dyes Silk Wild Lavender. Oh wow, very nice color variations, I enjoyed it a lot and know that that will not be the last.

I'm stitching all 6 in one fabric so here's how it looks so far,

I've learned that my friend Jes is stitching it too and would want to stitch along with me, oh I'd love to! So from now on, the remaining four charts will be a private SAL with her. We haven't set the schedule yet, but we'll start soon.

Hope you all had a great weekend and hope this week will be nice and safe. Happy Monday! Thanks a lot for stopping by and for the nice comments. Hugs.
