What's up peepz......
Friday, July 17, 2009
I just want you all to know, I am still here, alive, kicking and exhausted. As of the moment, I can no longer work on my wip or have a new start. Everything is all packed up waiting to see the light of day.
My stitchings were the last ones to be packed so I still had the chance to carry on a few of my wip last month. Although I couldn't find my Beloved, CIA, CIT and Elements, I did stitch up Sunshine and Flowers, Japanese Garden, and new projects.
I have my thumb drive (where I keep my photo creations intact) with me so thought it would be nice to update you of what I had accomplished while I'm on a no-blogging-mode.
I know I have not mentioned on my previous posts, I started a new project in April as soon as I have prepared the fabric for it. It's Hands to Work "This is the Day" published in Just CrossStitch Feb 2009. I did change some of the colors 'coz I didn't like the ones on the chart. Stitched on JdJ Golden Treasure 32ct linen, much lighter than the fabric on the model photo, so floss colors need to be replaced. Floss used are all in DMC with one variegated floss. It's very lovely, but I don't know why I kept setting it aside. I started it in April and only finished it in June, see I kept procrastinating it. Anyways, here it is in all its glory,
Another one which I've finished after 4 nights of burning the midnight oil. A fast and delightful stitch, La-D-Da "Live Laugh Love". I like it so much!! Stitched on JdJ Antique Charm 28ct, using DMC floss. I've changed the floss colors to the ones I prefer.
I have also started Just Nan "Sirens of the Sea" on June 20. It's so pretty!!!! I love all the details in it. It's a joyful stitch, and colorful as well. It really makes me look forward to our vacation in the Philippines' last frontier, Palawan, in August. After 2 nights, here's what I've stitched so far,
I'm stitching on JdJ Calm Twilight 28ct. This chart has a lot of 1 over 1. Just look at the fishes, it's so lovely, isn't it? I always enjoy doing 1 over 1 so no problem on my end. To make some of the backstitches more visible, I used darker floss colors in place of the ones required, that's the only change I've made on it so far. Looking at the photo makes me want to continue stitching it but then no idea when I'll have the time.
On my large project wip, first off is Japanese Garden. I have stitched some of the rock gardens and the bonsai trees. Since my RG PB threads had arrived, I had also worked the clouds and the waves and other backstitches.
And lastly, my fave, Sunshine and Flowers. I'm pretty much close to completion. Done with the hardanger border and bottom trellises and the corner knots. The only thing left to do is the hardanger Garden Trellis section (the empty square with the climbing roses). I have two options for it, but I have yet to decide which one I like. I used silk ribbons, peach and maroon, for a couple of spider web roses. I have replaced the lady with a fairy, and I must say, I like it so much. I'm so pleased with the result.
That's all for now. Sad to say, this is my last post for this month and probably for the next month/s. But I will update you as soon as I can.
So far, I've finished stitching the pieces for my upcoming give-away draw. I have in mind what the finishing will be, but it will have to wait. I need to organize my stuff first in the new place so please bear with me.
If you are interested with the floss colors I used on This is the Day and Live Laugh Love samplers, feel free to ask me. I'll be happy to share it with you.
Thank you for dropping by and for the comments. I appreciate it so much.
Until then, ciao.

Hope the move goes smoothly ;-)
Hello Joei, you've been doing a lot of beautiful work, I love the La-D-Da:)
Hello Joei, I love the "live, laugh love", I didn't know this pattern. Your fabric is beautifull, and your color palette is gorgeous.
Bravo !
A lot of pretty stitching! I love your JN start, it's going to be gorgeous. Congrats on the pretty La-D-Da "Live Laugh Love" finish!
I love all of your updates on your stitching projects! I hope all is going well with your move and that you will be finished soon.
Hello, Joei!
Long time no see, I know. How is going the movint process? Moving is just a mess. I hope you find some time and disposition to work on your wips. It is so relaxing and, as I can see, you really need some rest.
Hei, you don't have enought time to work on wips, but blessed be your thumb drive! You showed some amazing things in this post. My faves are the delicate Sirens of The Sea (I don't have problems for stitching 1x1 squares, just like you) and the lovely Sunshine and Flowers (I do envy your hardanger. I have no idea of how it is made). Even so, everything else is also very beautiful. I loved the changes in colors that you've made in This is the Day. I am seriously thinking about starting to buy that Just CrossStitch magazine. It seems to be a good publication.
Would you mind to tell me where can I find the delicate Sirens of the Sea? I just loved it sooooo much!
And, by the way, thank you very much for the visit. Tammy loved the set, indeed. But, one day, I will be able to create many more lovely things, just like you!
Hugs, and good luck with the moving process.
Hello Joie!
Each time I visit to you, you surprise me!!!
I love your Wip's!
Congrats and hugs....
All your pieces are absolutely stunning! Can I please have your DMC colour conversion for 'This is the Day'? I am itching to stitch it now that I have seen yours!
Good luck with the move:)

Glad to see you're still well, Joei. Have missed your postings. Your stitching is perfect and as usual, beautiful. I love your choice of colours for Live Laugh Love. Soft and charming. Your hand dyed fabrics are gorgeous too. Do you think you'll have opalescent linens available in the near future?
Thanks a lot for the lovely comments. It really makes my stressful day.
Hi Michelle,
I've sent the DMC color conversion to the email addy you indicated in your comment.
Hi Veronica,
As much I want to have such opalescent fabrics but I can't find any shops carrying such. But I keep looking.
Hi Joei,
"This is the day" is very beautiful finish! I love the colours used!
I'm just amazed with your speed of stitching with few wip's. You are fantastic! They are all so neat and progressing.
Have a smooth move.
Joei just a quick note to let you know I have stitched one of your free pattern's and made it into a scissor fob as part of my first blog anniversary gift, you are welcome to take a peek if you wish!
Kind regards
Lynn
